Collections Galore

Let me share to you a part of myself.

I am a collector of fun stuffs. When I was a kid, my classmates were into collecting stickers and cute memo pads and stationeries, but I was kind of different when it comes to my collections. I have grown up with my grandma, and she has a vast array of coin collections which she kept in her "baul" (a heavy wooden chest) where she kept her memorabilias and other important stuffs. So I grew to liking her collections and soon I started mine.

I first collected coins, I gathered old coins that my grandma gave me, and some of those I got from relatives who came and gave me cash treats. Now, I have more than two hundred coins of different denominations and from different countries too.

Coin collectors are called numismatists, I guess you may call me one now...

Here's some of them...

My Coin Collection

I also collected stamps, my classmates were also into it. It all started when our teacher asked us to submit a project in Social Studies and fill the folder with stamps coming from different places. For that, we must find ways to befriend other people from different parts of the world in order for her to prove we got the stamp thru mail.

And that started in my love for the collection. Stamp collectors are called philatelists.

International Stamps Collection

I have two albums of stamps, I use photo albums because I can just stick the stamps when I want to and take them out without tearing them too.

One stamp album is for the International collection and one is for my local (Philippines only) collection.

Local Stamps

I have been into different kinds of music too, so when I went into college, I had to save money and buy these...

My collection includes different albums from Rivermaya, of which I have 5, E-heads, Firehouse, Alanis Morisette and the other bands too.

This is the pic...

I have more than 50 collection of casette tapes, and these were during those times when CD players are yet out of the blue... Now, I only wish I could still play then, casette players are no longer available I guess...

And notice my collection of stuff toys too, they are sure a number! I counted them and they reach to a hundred, my oh my. Those were gifts and some were buys. I have collected them during my college years and now I am sharing them with my kids...
Okey, you can see some books lined up, and those Archie Digest Books, somewhere on the far rear to the right are my Harry Potter Books, and notice the Piknik cannister? They are full of my pen collection. Ugh, what more do I need to complete this?

Any ideas? Okey, so let me know what you collect, I might have a fun at it...

Oh, I love seeing your collections! It's fun looking back on them all and remembering them. You have several nice collections. I have a few myself that didn't purposely start out as collections. Like all my teas and my knitting needles and crochet hooks! LOL. I think I will have to post some of my collections soon, so you can see what I'm talking about. :)

I used to collect different currency paper bills naman, had them in an album...although I didn't bring it with me when I migrated to Canada.

Now, the only things I collect are shoes and purses...hehehehe.
I have a cousin who collects miniatures. She has three glass cabinets that hold everything from s teeny tiny bible to tea sets--anything and everything, as look as they're small! I only collect cookbooks and fabric. Yours look like so much fun. :)
