What If?

Image
‘What’ and ‘if’ are two words as nonthreatening as words come. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: ‘What if?’ …” -Letters to Juliet I was in tears yesterday because of this movie, it came as a light movie, but was powerful it actually moved me. Love comes without season, nor reason. This may be a cheesy flick, but I urge you to watch this movie, there's more to love than the pains of a broken heart. What if? And if I am to say something, What if I have not loved you, then I would not have the two most beautiful people in my life, Biboy and Tabebs. What's your favorite love quote? Would you mind sharing them to me?

Step Up 3D Made Me Cry

You know you're dancing when tears of pain and happiness blend in with your sweat." ~Anonymous I don't know how to dance, I believe I have two left feet. Not even a very simple step could go unnoticed by the hubby once I make a move. It's so awkward of me to dance, and when I do, it's always not a good sight to see, so I don't dance anymore, not when I can help it. But I married a dancer. Hubby was member of the infamous NDMU Kariktan Dance Troupe when he was in his college days. I remember him getting to the office late because he had some trainings to do, and he's been teaching kids in one place to do cultural dance. Last Friday afternoon, we dated. I assumed he was surprised when, asked to see what movie, I chose Step Up 3D from Salt, Furry Vengeance and Hating Kapatid (which is obviously never my type). So off we went inside with our 3D glasses, cinema almost full, and armed w...

The Day the Earth Stood Still

If the earth die, you die. If you die, the Earth survives. Which would you choose? Alarming, right? But so true. Time has placed us to a transformation that we cannot control. It's not the Technology that destroyed the Earth, it's US. The Day the Earth Stood Still tells of an alien who visited our planet and tried to save the Earth. Save the Earth from what, you will ask. From the human race. Yes, the alien wanted to save the Earth from us, human beings. As my eyes wandered from the actions I have seen on the screen, my mind wanders and wonders as to what extent we have damaged our planet. The effect of the damage is already alarming: the hole in the ozone layer, floods everywhere, storms in the Philippines, landslides in Malaysia, hurricanes in the Western part of the world, earthquakes and tsunamis in Indonesia. The story speaks so true to what is really happening in our planet now. It is truly our attitude towards the Earth that damaged the environment. We have become so se...

Of Friendship and False Thoughts

My son kept asking if we could watch Bolt, and guilt-driven by the fact that I was away when they had Recognition Day (he got an Academic Excellence ribbon), I promised him we would watch Bolt Monday as it was a holiday here in the Philippines. I love Bolt, the friendship they had with the girl, Penny, is not superficial. Although the Bolt in the TV is packed with super science, Bolt is made to believe he is really powerful, yet he is not. Being a super dog, he thinks he is faster than anything, can shoot with laser beam eyes, and bad guys tumble down because of his super powers. One day, he accidentally slipped from the fantasy (movie) world to reality. And so things went crazy. He was separated from Penny. As he was made to believe he is very powerful, all the powers he had seemed useless. And when he is in the real world, he thought his powers were gone because of the styrofoam peanuts he accidentally ate. While finding Penny, he met two friends, a sidekick hamster Rhino, and a stre...

Love transcends all differences...

Last Saturday, we brought the kids to watch Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa. My boy was excited as he was able to watch the first Madagascar movie. My 2 year old daughter was quite jittery too, because we are bringing her to the mall again, little did she know she will be watching a movie in a dark place. We were anxious because it was her first time and I am just scared that after buying the ticket, she might not want to stay inside the darkness-filled room. The place was packed, mostly adults and teenagers with kids in tow, and it was a surprise to us that my Tabebs was very brave to go inside without hesitation. We watched the movie in silence, only the kids noisy while munching their snacks. The movie was cool, all animals were able to display a different attitude towards each other, though they may be friends, it was a fact that they were all too different from each other. Melman was in love with Gloria, and Moto-moto being the third party in the love story. In the end, the giraff...
