Christmas Toyland in SM Gensan

Image
It’s the most awaited season of the year again, the season of joy, love and hope. It is the time of the year where everyone gets ecstatic and elated especially the children. This year, they are given the focus as the lighting of the giant Christmas tree is themed in Toyland. The setting will be decorated with different kinds of toys and gifts which will be guarded by toy soldiers. A marching band will parade along the mall to invite the shoppers to witness the momentous lighting of the giant Christmas tree. The crowd will be entertained by a choir who will be singing Christmas carols with ballerinas dancing with them. Also, indoor fireworks will add more delight as the giant Christmas tree is being lighted for the kids and kids at heart. Christmas is the time to celebrate this very special season with family and friends. It’s time to be happy and peaceful, and to give and share the blessings. The essence of Christmas is the idea of gift-giving with Santa Claus around and gives th...

Sharing Builds Children's Character

Image
When I first visited this place and when I saw the situation of the residents especially the children, I have promised myself that I will be back and will give them something to be happy about. It was never in my mind that I will be supported by friends who have the heart to also share what little they have in order to make these kids happy.  Armed with P3,000.00 in my pocket, I went to the nearest department store and bought some cute and educational toys and school supplies that I think will bring a smile to the kids' faces. Ate Alfie who has a big heart in sharing, added some more toys for the kids.  And so we went there with a sackful of gifts for forty children, afraid that the gifts might be lacking. And we have limited food as well, we only prepared 40 also, haha. We were unsure of how many kids there were in the community.    And alas we arrived. From the made-up wobbly and collapsible wooden bridge, we got through to where the kids have...

My Christmas Wish List

Image
Christmas is so near, I can feel the cold morning breeze each time I wake up in the wee hours. I can so smell Christmas. This 2011 has been more generous and kind to me, I passed the Civil Service Professional Exams and I got hired in the government for a regular post. What more can I ask for? Well, I have been very thankful about all the goodness life has been with me, and I am thankful for those who prayed with me to achieve what I desired. All those desires were actually for the future of my kids, I have asked God to bless me with those gifts because I am thinking of my kids' future and my family. This time, my Christmas wish list includes only material things for myself. I hope Santa hears me and reads this so he could wrap something that's written in my Christmas wish list and drop it in my doorstep. 1. An e-book reader. I don't care what brand it is for as long as I can read, most especially while waiting for the bus to run in my going to and fro home and office. 2. A...

The Day I Became Santa Claus

Image
This is the way to one of the earth's heavens. Three luxury cars, and a dump truck, all on its way towards being Santa Clauses! It has been in my heart to serve the people of my land, and to give what is there to share, and to teach my kids to share what they also have. What's best is that, we were invited by the Rotary Club of Polomolok to join them in their gift-giving also in Purok Palakasam, in Polomolok. So before we proceeded to Kinilis, we went with the Rotary Club to Palakasam and deliver their gifts. Giving this bag filled with love, RC Polomolok's project tagged as "Shoebox Full of Love" is on their 6th year and we bloggers, joining them is a plus point, an extraordinary chance. The bloggers doing a "bayanihan" act in order to reach the mountains and the community in Palakasam. It is but a pleasure to have the gifts delivered to them, I was teary-eyed when I was asked to speak in behalf of the bloggers about the project since I was the one who ...

Me, Today

Image
Well, I'm really kind of busy because of so many things and all these are important. first and foremost, today starts my second month in Dept.of Labor and Employment. We will be having a jobs fair this coming December 6 and 7, and I have been busy calling employers for their vacancies. This make me active in trying to reach out to employers in order for unemployed people to be given jobs, doing this my way, I can at least be part of giving them better future without them knowing it. This Friday, December 3, my kids will be up on the stage again, I was told that the daughter maintains first honors in her class, and the son, who placed 4th (with 3 ties) was able to place third this time. I was actually expecting a different scenario since he is not that dedicated with his studies and I don't see him exerting efforts with it. So that means, am gonna be a stage mother again tomorrow. Proud momma! This Saturday, I will be hosting the family day for the school, as VP of the PTCA, we ...

My Thankful Heart

Image
Lord, thank you so much for what the year has been, all the blessings, the gifts, the flow of strength and all that was showered upon us. Thank you also for the trials, the storms, the floods, the weaknesses that we hurdled. We became stronger because we trusted in You and knew we can survive because You certainly won't leave us. Thank you for friends, close friends, neighbors, officemates who have made life better for us because they are around. Than you for online friends who continue to read our rants and raves even if we are only bonded by this special thing called the Internet. Thank you also for those people who made our lives difficult. They may be the annoying people we have to deal with but they shape our character, and hopefully, they shape it for a better one. Thank you for the work we still have while others have none. Thank you because you have shown us the importance of working hard in order to feed our mouths and not to steal. Thank you for Mother Nature. We may have...

Fifteen Days Before Christmas

Image
Fifteen days and it's Christmas, how fast time flies. And since the spirit of Christmas is already moving amidst us, I just want to share this with you. I don't know who wrote this , but it sure is one thing worth sharing to everybody! True Meaning of Christmas Just a week before Christmas I had a visitor. This is how it happened. I just finished the household chores for the night and was preparing to go to bed, when I heard a noise in the front of the house. I opened the door to the front room and to my surprise, Santa himself stepped out next to the fireplace. "What are you doing?" I started to ask. The words choked up in my throat and I saw he had tears in his eyes. His usual jolly manner was gone. Gone was the eager, boisterous soul we all know. He then answered me with a simple statement . . . "TEACH THE CHILDREN!" I was puzzled. What did he mean? He anticipated my question and with one quick movement brought forth a miniature toy bag from behind the tr...
