His Would-Be Online Respite

Summer is officially over, yes, and because of that, my boy will have to busy himself with school stuffs and with assignments. Summer has come and gone but my boy was just a pure bum to be memorizing the multiplication table, but instead, he has devoted his time reading, Farm Town (which I ask him to do for me, since Mommy is so busy at work), and online games.

However, online games have been affecting his behavior so much that I think his being glued to the Internet always makes him super choleric. I don't know, but I think I must do something to get his mind away from the net. Plus, this youtube thing, with different videos existing in there doesn't help.

New gadget for the kid, this Gameboy is for me...

I'm now thinking of checking shops and gaming guides that will help me buy something good for the son, in order to control his Internet use.

All work and no play makes a boy unhappy, so for his first achiever ribbon, if he works for it, he gets something with remote controls?

it's really hard to manage the computer [and game] time of children. try mo sheng to set limit on the time, like 30 minutes lang. so that you'll not be completely depriving him of the computer and yet you still control his gaming. :)

i agree with kg, maybe setting a time limit would work. i only play the Wii these days, and i haven't been addicted to any online games yet.

Oh my goodness! I cannot give any advice at all. I just got my own Nintendo DS Lite game and have become addicted to Docomodake. LOL. But I totally understand your feeling of needing to pull him away from such singular, introverted activities that the internet just feeds and feeds. Maybe some kind of physical group activity with his friends like a softball game or something? It's good I don't have kids or I would worry all the time!

We went to Lake Sebu last Saturday to celebrate my brother's 16th birthday, and while on our way to witness the majestic falls, we were already planning to drop by Surallah to check out their most famous cultural landmark, the round ball. I do not really know how it was named the Round Ball since it seems so redundant to be called as such but to question it, honestly, won't give you much intelligent answer as we also have round balls in Koronadal City and General Gantos City. It was a beautiful Saturday morning when we visited Kinilis, in Polomolok. I was with Nanards and two visiting friends from Davao City, Emi, and her American husband, Joshua. They wanted to go see the kafe balos because it has been very famous now, and they wanted to invest into the business. Sir Fred mentioned there was a tribal wedding that very day so it was a fortunate day for us to witness something different, a customary tribal wedding rite.
