Seatlbelt: One Slip That Could Save

When we started traveling in our car last April, I feel like I am very much protected because I am inside, comfortably sitting, in our very own car.

With Hubby driving, it seems as if I am very much confident that I travel with him carefully manning the vehicle and bringing us to our destination safely. I have never seen him driving without fastening the seatbelt on. And he has this habit of reminding me to buckle up too.

Lately, the late night news is being bombarded with lots of vehicular accidents who have victims not only arriving to the hospital bruised, but some dead. Mostly because of motorcycle collision or a headbutt among cars and big trucks.

This then reminds me so much that life on the road is a challenge; that if you are not careful to mind your life, it could very much be in danger. Hubby tells me: "Gamitin mo ang seatbelt, hindi yan design ng sasakyan, para sa kaligtasan yan." (Fasten your seatbelt, that thing is not made as car design but for safety.)

Although I sometimes forget, I am instantly reminded about wearing one especially if I travel with the kids. The kids in the passenger seat is being trained to wear the seatbelt too, even if we get lots of complaints from the kids. They must be comfortably slipped on especially when they make the backseat their playground when on the road.

This single slip of the seatbelt could save you a trip to the hospital, and could even save your life. So don't forget, fasten that seatbelt on when traveling.

dami ngang accidents ngayon. ang bibilis kasi magmaneho ng bus drivers eh.

i always wear my seatbelt. i feel uneasy when i dnt wear it even when i ride at the back of the car. i had an accident narin kasi before. i broke my neck and it could have been prevented if i wore my seatbelt.

tns for this reminder! :)

in malaysia, it is now obligatory for REAR passengers to use seatbelts. (the ruling on front-seat passenger & driver has been in force for several years now.)

i know someone who had a major accident a couple of weeks ago. it was raining, he braked to avoid hitting the car in front, lost control of the car, hit the dividers 3x. luckily everyone in the car were wearing seatbelts and only the car is in the 'hospital' (workshop) now ;)

i was in a vehicular accident back in college. guess what? i wasn't wearing seatbelt (i was sleeping, with the chair inclined). when the drunk man crashed into our car, my head smashed into the window, leaving a Harry Potter scar. hehe

Mordsith, that's too bad. We must always be careful. Alam mo, kahit pa nga careful tayo, there are just some people who will fall short of our safety, they're the ones who are reckless and bumping into our ever careful maneuver, I guess that's one big enough reason why I don't ever want to learn to drive, but hubby says I must!

You'll get a hefty fine if police see you without wearing a seatbelt here. Yung daughter ko meron pang "booster seat" para lang the seatbelt fits snugly around her.

A number of accidents happened here lately because of Ramadan. Perhaps due to lack of sleep, hunger, thirst that bring irritability.

I agree. It's one of the golden rules on the road. Taxi cabs with non-functioning seat belts make me nervous.

korek seatbelt is very important.

It is automatic with us, the car is not going to move unless everybody have their seatbelt on. Kaya lang, we always try our best to protect ourselves pero yun mga car makers try their darnest to maximum their profit at the expense of safety.
