Earth Hours Too Soon

It ain't March yet, and we are already experiencing daily Earth Hours.

More than three weeks and we have been busted with daily round of brownouts due to the energy shortage.
It is very disappointing, especially in the office when you have to deal with daily energy cuts, and the fact that you do not know when it happens.

The electric cooperative here in Gensan has resorted to a daily dose of rotating brownouts, so this leaves us with no clue as to when and as to how long this will happen. We in the office find it disturbing because there may be times when we have forgotten of saving our works at all, and the power just dies. Some may scream at disgust, and some may just shrug it off, but it sure is a burden.
I have layers of manuscripts to read and there's no power, the bad thing is, I have deadlines to beat. Too bad, but this gives me an advantage as well, 'coz I can just go out of the room, find some light and get a book to read, and catch up on it.

But it sure is hot! NO AC, and it's scorching HOT, and this makes me miss Razon's halu-halo. And the person, I was with when I first had a taste of it!

And yes Earth hour, we have had enough!

I'm so sorry to hear about the brown outs. Do you know how long this will last?

We're not officially out of winter yet. We're expecting more snow showers next week. I am aching for some hot weather.

Hala uy! It's bad enough that the weather's been so hot lately :(

Malaysia, luckily, has no power issues. In certain areas in Indonesia and Vietnam, they have scheduled blackouts every week. (I wonder why it's brownout in the Philippines, blackout in Malaysia? Hehe)

Hay sana nga madalaw ka ulit Manila para makapag halohalo tau ulit sa razon's.

kakabother talaga ang energy and water "crisis". the good thing, though, is we can do something about it. save! :)

Hello Sheng!

Sad to hear about that brown-outs in your area! We have it too here in Metro Manila once in a while but not as frequent I think. Nakakabaliw tlaga pag walang power. Sobrang mainit! pati ulo mo talagang iinit! Lalo na sa inyong nag-o-office 'no? Hirap talaga!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

I always tune in to local news nowadays. El Nino and brownouts are unfortunate. I think wherever we are, we need to do our share of conservation of resources.

Btw, bigla ko ring namiss ang Razon's halo halo!

that's sad. bakit ba tuwing summer pa natataon ang blackouts?

hay na-miss ko naman ang halo-halo sa pinas.

grabe nga ngayon pa nag-brown out kung kelan ang init-init and parang nananadya kasi mag e-election sa May. Last year naman parang hindi ganyan. hirap nyan for the kids kasi they are the ones na magsuffer due to heat stroke.

hay, sana hindi na gaanong magbrown-out dyan. hirap kaya. super init!

oh, yeah. i heard about the brownouts there. i hope it doesn't happen much at night, because it would be harder for your kids to sleep then, especially if it's hot.

My wife's tita from Davao was here in Manila yesterday and she said that brownouts happen three times a day.

We have our share of rotating brownouts but I know that you have to endure longer hours. I hope the power shortage will be resolved soon.
