Valentine's Day Work

Yes, even on Valentine's Day. I was out, I went to Polomolok, South Cotabato, 45 minutes away from my workplace and I spent half of the Valentine's Day orienting barangay captains about Philjob.net.

I really have no idea how I came to be teaching people, even high profile people like barangay captains and barangay officials, giving them talks about the program of the department which I represent. It is as much an honor as it is a task for me to be telling and sharing to people what I know about phil-job.net.

But no, I am not going to talk to you about the site, instead, I want you to know that I have been working even on Valentine's Day, but fortunately, the orientation ended a little past 12 at noon and I was dismissed early by the boss I was with that time. She's that sweet and considerate because it was the Day of Hearts.

People have been telling me how come I have been too busy, but I say I am enjoying that's why I care less if I am busy, the important thing is that, I am earning, learning and sharing.

Service above self, I guess that's what is eating my time, but of course, I have the family to take care of and that's still top priority to me!

I went to work too. was busy but made sure to finish everything COB kasi may date kami ni hubz. We had dinner at a resto :-)

i've been busy, too, and missed commenting on blogger friends' sites din! :( finding balance ulit but all is well. valentine's day was simple -- dinner at home with a home-cooked pasta dish. :) solb na din.

i don't really celebrate valentines sheng...even if i'm not single. haha! ewan kung bakit. for me, it's just one of those "regular" days.

Famous Cultural Landmark in Surallah, South Cotabato

We went to Lake Sebu last Saturday to celebrate my brother's 16th birthday, and while on our way to witness the majestic falls, we were already planning to drop by Surallah to check out their most famous cultural landmark, the round ball. I do not really know how it was named the Round Ball since it seems so redundant to be called as such but to question it, honestly, won't give you much intelligent answer as we also have round balls in Koronadal City and General Gantos City. Actually a rotunda, but ever since has been called the Round Ball. Unveiled last March 15, 2011, it’s towering, obelisk-like central piece of a 2-string lute points straight to heaven , silhouetted by the blue sky at more than 60 feet above the ground. It was a beautiful Saturday morning when we visited Kinilis, in Polomolok. I was with Nanards and two visiting friends from Davao City, Emi, and her American husband, Joshua. They wanted to go see the kafe balos because it has been very famous now, and they wanted to invest into the business. Sir Fred mentioned there was a tribal wedding that very day so it was a fortunate day for us to witness something different, a customary tribal wedding rite. We went inside the house for they explained to us that the traditional B'laan wedding is being held inside the house of the bride where the couple has to sit on a mat and surrounded by relatives and witnesses. The bride was very beautiful that day, she was adorned with T'nalak inspired accessories, and her hair was placed with a beautiful headdress made of brass.
