Anything goes...

Forgive me if this blog seemed ignored for like a century already. I have been so busy with so many things work-related plus the thesis and kids and house chores that need attending to.  But seriously, there are a just a lot of things I have to be thankful for, like having wonderful children who help me cook breakfast in the morning, and a daughter who, while there may be tantrums at times, keeps me sane as she joins me in bed while her father is away for work. So, children. I have a 15-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter and I am almost but not quite my forties. I have been very eager to watch Bamboo In Demand Concert here in Gensan because as many would actually know, I am such a fangirl of Rivermaya, a 90's band with Bamboo as the vocalist in their most famed years.  Came Saturday, and I tagged the kids along with the hope that they get to enjoy Bamboo because they see him as a judge in The Voice, a singing competition aired over the TV on weekends....

I am an avid fan of RIVERMAYA. I went gaga over this band and had to shout it out the very first time here in my blog .  They are one of the most influential and critically acclaimed Rock Band in the country. Way back in college, I bought all their cassette tapes because I just feel very much connected with their songs. The original band composed of Bamboo, Rico Blanco, Perf de Castro, Mark Escueta and Nathan Azarcon were just undeniably good, and they produce real good music, pleasant to the ears that I can relate so much to the music and the lyrics though I am not much of a good singer myself. I even had to share my tapes over Facebook to show that I am a real fan.  Lately, a good friend, Irene , was posting pictures about her experiences with these boys. And I told her that I am a huge fan of the band, even until now that some of the members are new to include Norby David, Mike Elgar, Ryan Peralta except for Mark Escueta who's been keeping the band intact since he ...

Oh yes, I did. During my college years was the most memorable years of my life. It was when I fell in love, had a few heartaches, had my first few mishaps, and had to make decisions on my own.  College years also was when I had to earn a few from the allowance that my parents gave me, something that I went to save to buy what I wanted to buy. It was then cassette tapes working for there were only cassette players then, and so to join with the trend of other youth engaging in their favorite bands, I joined the bandwagon of having to keep my own set of collections, which will need another blog post.  But for now, I want to share with you how I came about going gaga over Rivermaya. There was Bamboo in the band yet, and there were Nathan Azarcon, and Mark Escueta to begin the band with; and they were young and lovable that ladies could easily say they got a crush on these guys even if they do not know them personally.
