Back to My Roots

My year and a half of stay at the old office  where I was assigned at, were both happy and sad, both a challenge and a struggle. That short stint as focal person of so many programs has been quite a challenge not because of the work it gives me, but more because of the people I deal with and how multiple my tasks were. There has been times when I could not understand what am I to do first because everything is in a hurry. But I was happy, I had to enjoy the work that was assigned to me. I am supposed to enjoy the people that I have to deal with and I have to be polite to them while having to treat my bruised ego and hurting heart. But the Good Lord answered my cries. I was transferred to another field office where I can just ride the trike and pay a minimal amount, and so I could save more. More to it than that, I am closer to my family. They are only 10 minutes away from where I now work. This new workplace is very familiar to me despite the changes of management and the ...

Tired but Happy

Image
I happen to be very busy these past few days that I even forgot to tell you I went to Bohol to be with my tarsier friends. Yes, the three day weekend for me was awesome, it was a blast with my family who wanted to break away from the hustle and bustle of work and all. It was also a celebration because my kids handed me test papers which are generally bearing very good scores, perfect and almost perfect scores.  I am happy that despite the "almost complicated challenge" of having to leave for vacation on the day of my IQ Examination for promotion, God has given me the chance not to miss on it. I was able to finish the exam way earlier than others just in time to catch our flight. And while on vacation, I wasn't able to let you know I was out having fun in the sun because my mobile can only key in facebook chat icons from MyEmoticons , and nothing more. But although I was barely online that time, and I think I opted to enjoy the fun with the kids and husband th...

Orchid Blooms and More!

Image
It's been a week's time that we have not visited our own house because during weekdays, we stay at MIL's place, so the five days swiftly went by. Last week, when we got home, I visited the backyard to check on my plants and lo and behold, i saw a budding group of orchids. They are so beautiful. It made me squeal with happiness that the husband immediately asked me what happened. Added to that, I looked up and saw my atis tree having not one but two fruits. Whoa, what a year of blessings and happiness. And just today, this is what welcomed me when I got home after three rounds of brisk walking inside the subdivision: "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him." - 1 John 5:14–15 Happiness starts with yourself! Enjoy the weekend, everyone! Love, Sheng

10 Steps to a Good Memory

Image
Well, let us accept it, we are definitely not getting any younger and even younger ones have a way with memory, because sometimes, our memory fails us. It is like a tire that is being used everyday, and so the tire has to wear out and sometimes, flattens, balds over time, and in due time will have to be sent to the shop for a check. The same way goes with our memory, thus in order for us not to bring our memories to the shop, I will share here ten steps to boost your memory. I found this while de-cluttering our house on the first day of the year and has become helpful to me. I considered this as a sign to a good guide to 2011. I hope this guides you as well. 1. Get yourself a sleep. Sleep deprivation lowers your immune system, weakens your defenses against sickness and leads you to mental fatigue and poor memory. 2. Set your body clock. Maintaining a regular body clock is just getting enough sleep. If you go to bed early and rise early, keep it that way. It easily coordinates your bod...

Major Major Stunning!

My age already exceeds the numbers on the calendar, but it did not stop me or any of us Jenny's officemates, to be bride's maids on her wedding day. Jenny turned 32 and on her wedding day, and all her close officemates were made bride's maids, to even as old as 49. It was a very nice and colorful affair, where we were able to don very beautiful gowns, and wear our hair as if we were youngsters. Here's what I looked like during the wedding. And take note, first time ko maging bride's maid, hehehe. Once, I became maid of honor at my sister's wedding. And to borrow Venus Raj's words, major major stunning , am I not? Tell me, teeeheee...

30 Be Good to Yourself Therapy

Image
I read these from a book that i have been neglecting to read for years. And when it finally dawned on me that it's time for me to grab it, here's what I got and will share with you. 1. Trust yourself. You know what you want and need. 2. Put yourself first. You can't be anything for anybody else unless you take care of yourself. 3. Let your feelings be known. They are important. 4. Express your opinions, it's good to hear yourself talk. 5. Value your thinking, you do it well. 6. Take the time and space you need - even if other people are wanting something from you. 7. When you need something, don't talk yourself out of it. Even if you can't have it, it's okey to need. 8. When you're scared, let someone know. Isolating yourself when you're scared makes it worse. 9. When you feel like running away, let yourself feel the scare. Think about what you fear will happen, and decide what you need to do. 10. When you're angry, let yourself feel the anger. ...

The Valentine's Date

I am not really a super fan of him, not until Saturday. When I met him, I thought of sloppy old love songs I hear on the FM stations, and I even thought of bringing my Ipod just in case he fails to meet my expectations. I was born a rock'en roll fan, and mushy love songs are somewhat in the seconds and thirds on my list, but he made me love it. He made me change my mind. And sloppy old love songs are lovable, this he made me realize. Not only because of his voice, and his singing, but because of the awesome band he was with. Oh come on, I couldn't get a better band than what he brought, I was amazed! They were oh-so superb! David Pomeranz Concerts are a must-see! The songs have their own story and they tug the heartstrings. Every song I listened to were very nice, they were all worth listening to. And they make you realize what magic love can bring. Take me to your heart Show me where to start Let me play the part of your first love All the stars are right Every wish is ou...

Blissful Moments of January

"Everything comes in its own perfect time." I have always believed in this saying. And what better timing is NOW! In a recent post, I have told you of my/our desire to have a laptop. This is not a luxury for us, but a need. Our small business is in need of this thing because we can always upload stuffs taken by our precious camera, given this. We have been into a lot of lay-out services for a lot of people lately, and while we are at it, we also do some stuffs for leisure, like playing online games along with the kids, and trying to add more knowledge to them through Encarta. Just seven days after I have posted it here , Hubby's Kuya Allan came home from Iloilo, and gave my hubby this thing of beauty! Oh my, just after seven days! I was so happy that time and I still am because my prayer has been answered. The thing is, Kuya Allan bought this beauty December 27, 2008, and he was given a new laptop days after he bought this. He got this for P34, 000 and we will only be pay...
