Mother Instincts

Image
Today is my Mom's birthday, and I thank her for all the LOVE she has bestowed upon us her kids. I am forever grateful that she is my mother, and will always be proud of all the things she did for us in order to survive LIFE. Today, as I have reached the stronger intensities of motherhood, she may not know this, but she has been my inspiration all along. The good things she taught me and many more, are the things I am teaching my kids as well. The strength I get come from my kids, and they are the very reason why I strive hard to make them feel the comforts of the life I may not have had before. Thank you Mommy for making me strong, for instilling in me the values of being a good woman, a child, much more, a MOTHER. Mommy, I dedicate to you my new home . I called it Mother Instincts for it will feature me as a mother, other women's motherhood lifestyles, the whats and what-nots of life, and I share the beauty of motherhood. You have guided me to motherhood, and I owe all to you....

300 is an Achievement

Image
This is my 300th post. Congratulate me! I do think this is one achievement, but I believe I should really blog more often. I have come this far, sharing to you 300 posts about my life, my environment and my family. Everything is good when shared with friends. I am grateful that I am blessed with good friends who share my sentiments, listen to me, and give me their two cents when I need it. I am grateful that you are all friendly and patient of my rants and raves. It's the start of Christmas, and I am excited. Who doesn't get excited about Christmas? Me, super excited because this Christmas, I will be reuniting with my best friend, she and her partner will be coming home, and we will be celebrating the season on our neighborhood. That's one reason to be happy, right? And this Christmas, hopefully, things will turn out from good to better. I do have a Christmas wish list, but these are material things I need, as I am already blessed with the more valuable stuffs. For one, I th...

One Day Life of a Model

Image
I have a photographer for a husband. And yes, I am thankful for that. The Lord has given me a very creative husband who understands me inside and out and knows me very well that I am not, NEVER fond of modeling for him. But GandaEverSoMuch has this really challenging photo contest, and I have to join, hence I wouldn't have that much coveted red Opera shirt I have been eyeing for, from my friends. So I budged the hubby as to what we will be doing for the contest, and knowing his creative juices do not run low in supply, he made me do this: That really heavy set of gorgeous colors came from HK, and it was actually the first time we opened that box, just for the photoshoot. The brush and everything else, including the face having my glasses on are just his ideas. Oozing with creativity, we did this all one very hot afternoon. While having to carry that set of colors, he was maneuvering his camera way up above my head, hoisted on tripod and his hands on the remote. It was a number of ...

Me na Me! Agree?

Image
Hello. This is me. Indeed this is so me. When Blogusvox announced on his blog that he was giving away a caricature for those who can answer his blogoversary treat, I was more than willing to try. It was a thing I wanted, and knew that he can make me a good cartoon of myself. He is that good. And when he announced that I was one of the winners , I was more than ecstatic. A few days after that, I got my caricature. Blogusvox is a really cool guy I have met on the net. He has helped me once with my queries regarding a trip to where he is. A kind and responsible father for Bea and a good husband to the wife. i love his insights on different things, a very intelligent man as seen from his blog posts. I am an avid fan of his Buhay Buhangin series and wants him to get on the groove with making this into a book and have it published. I am sure this will be a sure HIT. If you have not checked out his site, please do hop over here . He will keep you coming back for more. Thanks so much Blogusvox...

Ganda Ever So Much!

Image
Hello guys! Let me introduce you to a blog i have been visiting daily for almost a year now. I knew he was the guy who made things possible in festivals and other events, but I didn't know we could get closer. It wasn't until Bariles announced that his brother (or sister for that matter) already has a blog after a few budging and forcing to. And it was then announced to many of his networking sites like plurk and blog, and even thru the SMS to ask us to visit the blog and see what makes of it. Of course I couldn't get more giddy, I felt excitement, here's the big guy doing a blog and trying his way to pour out what he feels through his online journal. ...and so I went to visit, and everyday I visited, and the next days, I was still there. I wouldn't just be there for the wrong impressions, will I? BUT, it is because his blog will sure keep you coming back. His stories though may not be one of a kind, the posts are at times nice and at times angsty. Of course, that...

The First SoCCSKSarGen Summer Safari - Day 1

Image
Last Saturday was an important day for us Gensan bloggers because, as conceived by two of our our head master bloggers, Bariles and Orman , participants to the First ever Summer Safari hosted by SoCCASKSarGen bloggers arrived, and we had a blast with a grand bloggers' eyeball we gave them sponsored by PiYesTa, and the beautiful owner Donna Mae . The CDO and Davao bloggers were treated for lots of dinners, but I was not around to welcome them for the first two stops as I was hoping the Gensan candidates for Pilipinas Got Talent could beat other PGT contenders. I watched PGT and prepared for PiYesTa. They arrived quite late from the schedule because of their multiple dinners but we still had FUN with having to introduce ourselves with each other using our plurk names, haha! Plurk has been our only link, aside from the blogs we visit, and that makes us familiar with each other's activities, and even moods. There were 8 from Cagayan de Oro and nine from Davao City, who came and m...

The Bee Has to Look for Much Honey

I got a new job! Well, not that I got myself a new job in a new office, but a few weeks back, i blogged about having to get myself another job. It's an online job where i get to be a content writer, writing reviews for some products. I got hired last week, so for a week now, I have been juggling two jobs! It's kinda challenging to me since I have to submit 40 articles in a week. Or 8 articles in a day. The good thing Is, it's a flexible time for the writing while I can still enjoy working in an office with my old job. The two jobs are related with each other though, in my office, I work as editor and it requires me to read, while online, I get to write, no problem with that. But, of course, my time is kinda limited now, I cannot enjoy myself with some social events as I cannot allow myself to slack with my writing tasks. The good thing is, I can still do my chores and mommy-hood tasks considering the new work is a home-based job. I still can blog and visit your blogs too! B...

One Fine Day with Google and SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers

Image
I am from General Santos City, and am a member of SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers. SOCCSKSARGEN is for South Cotabato, Cotabato City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos, and since we are but a few hours drive from each other, we join each other in a small group we call as such - SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers. We have blogger friends from as far as Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat, and in the other direction, Alabel, Sarangani Province. But we meet in Gensan, and make different worthwhile activities. We have been doing this since last year. Spearheaded by Bariles of Gensan, we have made a conscious effort to converge our small group and at times, just to enjoy each other's presence. The first grand eyeball event we had was during the opening of Robinsons Mall many months ago, but we managed to stay close and at hand with each other, and helping each other grow in our blogging life, and staying as friends. This time, we were asked by Google to help in the mapping of the precincts for this coming Ma...

Isla Jardin Del Mar, Glan, Sarangani Province

Image
Warning: This will make you want to travel here in Southern Mindanao. You've been warned! We were invited to visit the opening of Isla Jardin Del Mar in Gumasa, Glan, Sarangani Province. The place is owned by no less than the fishing magnate Mr. Marfin Tan and his family. More than an hour's ride from General Santos City, this place is considered heaven by many. The first group (including hubby) went as early as 9am, while we went along with the vice governor's wife in the afternoon. I was amazed at how they developed the place as to cater tourists. Gumasa is a long stretch of white sand beach in this part of Mindanao and we are so lucky that we get to enjoy the place after an hour's ride. Pictures speak for itself. Click photo for larger size. Clear, tranquil water welcomed us as we enjoyed it splashing on our heels. The white sand was a relaxing foot spa. Although not the finest sand similar to Boracay's, one can relaxingly walk the sandy waters without being conc...

Birthday Giveaways!

Image
Thank you guys for the prayers. I knew I did my best but my best may not have been the very best for the selection board. The exam was not easy at all, as I am too poor in Abstract Reasoning, meaning, I think I got myself a poor IQ. It was a very short exam, with only 48 items for the first part, but yes, it was an IQ Test with only 12 minutes bombshell time. I got lost with the time pressure, so tensed that I dunno if I answered them correctly. The second part was a Personality Test with 300 items. That was quite a long exam but it was far better than the first part. What gives? I dunno, maybe try my better luck again next time, haha. I am positive with the turn of things this 2010 so I am still keeping my fingers crossed to whatever comes. After the exam was a plethora of activities I have participated. One thing to keep my mind off from the disappointment of lacking the zest for that exam. But anyway, life moves on. Emo for a day maybe? But the Lord has plans, and better plans, that...

Photographer in the Making?

Image
As I have told you in some of my posts, we bloggers here in Gensan, even the whole Soccsksargen area unite ourselves in the world of blogging, and because of this network, we have considered ourselves an organization that will cater first-hand and the truest information we can give you through our posts. But words are not enough to promote our beautiful place in Mindanao, so through generous hearts, Sir Orman and Sir Bariles , they gave us our early Christmas gift by asking the ever great photographer and journalist of Davao, Ms. Jojie Alcantara to teach us the ropes of basic Photojournalism. Thanks too to Sir Gilbert for asking The Farm to be the venue. This happened at The Farm, in Carpenter Hills, Koronadal City. The Farm sponsored for our sumptuous lunch. The workshop was good, the best ever I have been to. It was fun and I was able to meet friendly youngsters who also blog. There was only a few of us, less than thirty, as the date was set on a Monday, and many were still at wor...

25 Days Before Christmas

Image
And it is so soon. I love Christmas, it's a season for gift-giving and for peace. The kids love this season because they get what they ask Santa, the thing is, they have to be really nice and behaving really well before they get what they ask for. Just last week, we decided to put up our Christmas decor, the house is not that really decorated, because we don't have a big house, the house is only capable of sheltering our family of four, but nonetheless, we had to have the decors because we want the kids to feel the Christmas spirit. Now, it's really fast approaching, and I have yet to: * shop for gifts for the kids and inaanaks * shop for things we want to prepare for the Christmas eve * save up for things I want to have before the close of the year * list down the things I would really want to achieve (lots, to learn to drive for one) * list down the things I want the family to enjoy ofr the following year We don't have that much money now, as we have to save up and pa...

First, Second and Probably More

Image
My more than 15 years of living in Gensan proved that I am enjoying the place, the culture, the people, the events, and everything in it, but due to the lack of the chance, or rather some declined chances, I was not able to go to places some people have considered great places for fun and leisure. Two past Sundays, we had the chance of visiting Olaer Spring Resort and it was an invitation I could not resist since: 1. I swear I have never been to this place yet, in my 15+ years of stay in the city. 2. A spring resort appeals to me. 3. It is cool to be spending a Sunday with family and blogger friends. So there, the host, Ate Jinky , who owns the place, blogged about this once, and I can't help but want to visit this and see for myself the wonders of this place. I heard of this resort a long time ago, but long way back, it hasn't been developed and well promoted. Now, the place is exactly a beauty. We went there early in the morning and admired its serenity, fresh springwater,...
