Anything goes...

I just made 3 huge trays of this after I was gifted a basketful of ripe mangoes. And guess what? Di umabot ng dalawang araw, ubos. My kids love mango float, and I just can't pretend that I don't like it because it tops my desserts list. I (ahem) make a sinfully delicious batch if I have the time and the ingredients in my pantry. Yesterday, I bought another batch of ingredients and hopes to drop by the public market today for another bunch of ripe mangoes. Desserts? Mango float and macaroni salad. Smoothies? Mango shake and strawberry smoothies. Pasta? Any pasta or a nice white sauce carbonara. What tops your comfort foods? I first met a Razon halo-halo when I was in MOA last year. There I met blogger friends, Jeanny and Dyanie for the first time. And meeting them was a great feeling. But more so meeting this halo-halo. I fell in love with it the first time. And now that it's here in Gensan, what more could I ask for? my new love! I got the text a few minutes before the time they wanted me to be there. The message wanted me there for lunch with the Manila bloggers, so off hubby and I went, armed with our already full tummies, but nonetheless, there's room for extra, and one big room for what has been a feast. I have been craving for a lot of foods lately. From spaghetti, cheesecake, chocolate cake, ice cream and batchoy. The food i am drooling for actually depends on the weather. The other day, because it was so hot and humid, I wanted a chocolate ice cream paired with a blueberry cheesecake. Yesterday, the husband was resting because of flu, I suggested i get him batchoy because it was raining and cold. He refused it. And now, i wanted something sweet. No, it's not what you think. I am not expecting! I am just too stressed that these sinfully delicious goodies could make me water and I wanted so much to get. But then again, we don't have KK here. I got two boxes of these when Marian came to Davao and we met there bringing me these yummy delights. And I want it again! Oh noes! What could be wrong with me? I have always loved food although I am not really a good food writer. But I know good food when I see one! So when the the SoCCSKSarGen Bloggers headed to lake Sebu, we ended up feasting at The Red Tent Steakhouse in Gensan. We were kinda uneasy because of the tired legs we have, and the sticky feeling just won't let go, but after that we saw the food, they are just the best! Crabs and shrimps, and everything is fine! The last time I craved for crabs was last month, and the last time that I fully craved for crabs is because of Barlies' seafoods and crabs experience . Last Wednesday night was a blast. Hubby and I were invited by the Maestro, Bariles himself to join them at Red Trellis, a fancy fine-dining restaurant just 5 minutes away from our house. We always pass by the resto but was too busy to even drop by and check the place. Walking in, the cozy but light atmosphere amazed me. It ain't March yet, and we are already experiencing daily Earth Hours. More than three weeks and we have been busted with daily round of brownouts due to the energy shortage. It is very disappointing, especially in the office when you have to deal with daily energy cuts, and the fact that you do not know when it happens. The electric cooperative here in Gensan has resorted to a daily dose of rotating brownouts, so this leaves us with no clue as to when and as to how long this will happen. We in the office find it disturbing because there may be times when we have forgotten of saving our works at all, and the power just dies. Some may scream at disgust, and some may just shrug it off, but it sure is a burden. I have layers of manuscripts to read and there's no power, the bad thing is, I have deadlines to beat. Too bad, but this gives me an advantage as well, 'coz I can just go out of the room, find some light and get a book to read, and catch up on it. But it sure is hot! N...

Hubby went to Iloilo last Friday, but because I don't want to miss him that much, and because the free dinner for two that we got from Gensan News Online Mag's Blogoversary Giveaway arrived at a proper timing, we grabbed the chance to dine at Gio's Mongolian Grill and BBQ in Tiongson Arcade, Lagao, Gen. Welcome to Sarangani Highlands Last week, we had a trip to Maasim, Sarangani Province, we brought along the kids and MIL in order to visit a long time family friend and in order to close a deal with her school for our ID business. On our way home, we decided to drop by Sarangani Highlands, a hilltop plateau where fine dining and an extraordinary view is nestled.
