A Gift to Self

Image
I have truly been a good girl this year, methinks. I know that because evaluating what I have done for 2010, I felt I have been OC for improvement, well, not that everything has been an improvement because I also failed in a number of stuffs on my list. But yes, the blessings have been overflowing, everything else has been good. The Lord has been faithful in granting us provisions, good health and importantly, a good and understanding family, followed by lots of friends. This year, before 2010 closes, I have received gifts from people I know, from my dear blogger friends who has been following me, and from my husband too, albeit small, it was one of the best. But the best thing I got this Christmas is what I have long been asking for, and wanting for. It is not a gift given me by somebody else, but it is something I gave myself. The BIL bought this for me in Iloilo City, but I have to pay for it in exchange for something else. Nevertheless, I am happy. I have always wanted to have my o...

The Climb

Image
I resigned from work a month ago, so I was jobless. Unexpectedly, an application I made for a the Department of Labor and Employment many weeks back was given answer just last week, Wednesday, and on Thursday, I was interviewed by the boss. "We'll call you." That's the usual thing you'll hear from the headhunter, right? Well, the waiting is over, just yesterday, no call came but a text message saying I'll proceed to Tierra Montana to sign my contract for the employment. I thank the Lord for He never ceases to amaze me, His love and understanding is pouring over His children. The next six months will be another adventure for me as I will be tackling and giving a shot at government service. I just pray that the months after this employment will be much better. I may have held back some reservations for myself, but here's a new mountain to climb. And as I was listening to my music stream yesterday, Miley Cyrus caught me with her song. I think it just suits m...

Mother Instincts

Image
Today is my Mom's birthday, and I thank her for all the LOVE she has bestowed upon us her kids. I am forever grateful that she is my mother, and will always be proud of all the things she did for us in order to survive LIFE. Today, as I have reached the stronger intensities of motherhood, she may not know this, but she has been my inspiration all along. The good things she taught me and many more, are the things I am teaching my kids as well. The strength I get come from my kids, and they are the very reason why I strive hard to make them feel the comforts of the life I may not have had before. Thank you Mommy for making me strong, for instilling in me the values of being a good woman, a child, much more, a MOTHER. Mommy, I dedicate to you my new home . I called it Mother Instincts for it will feature me as a mother, other women's motherhood lifestyles, the whats and what-nots of life, and I share the beauty of motherhood. You have guided me to motherhood, and I owe all to you....

One Day Life of a Model

Image
I have a photographer for a husband. And yes, I am thankful for that. The Lord has given me a very creative husband who understands me inside and out and knows me very well that I am not, NEVER fond of modeling for him. But GandaEverSoMuch has this really challenging photo contest, and I have to join, hence I wouldn't have that much coveted red Opera shirt I have been eyeing for, from my friends. So I budged the hubby as to what we will be doing for the contest, and knowing his creative juices do not run low in supply, he made me do this: That really heavy set of gorgeous colors came from HK, and it was actually the first time we opened that box, just for the photoshoot. The brush and everything else, including the face having my glasses on are just his ideas. Oozing with creativity, we did this all one very hot afternoon. While having to carry that set of colors, he was maneuvering his camera way up above my head, hoisted on tripod and his hands on the remote. It was a number of ...

Me na Me! Agree?

Hello. This is me. Indeed this is so me. When Blogusvox announced on his blog that he was giving away a caricature for those who can answer his blogoversary treat, I was more than willing to try. It was a thing I wanted, and knew that he can make me a good cartoon of myself. He is that good. And when he announced that I was one of the winners , I was more than ecstatic. A few days after that, I got my caricature. Blogusvox is a really cool guy I have met on the net. He has helped me once with my queries regarding a trip to where he is. A kind and responsible father for Bea and a good husband to the wife. i love his insights on different things, a very intelligent man as seen from his blog posts. I am an avid fan of his Buhay Buhangin series and wants him to get on the groove with making this into a book and have it published. I am sure this will be a sure HIT. If you have not checked out his site, please do hop over here . He will keep you coming back for more. Thanks so much Blogusvox...

Chocolates from Jeddah

Image
I am a super big fan of chocolates. And by chocolates, I mean any kind- dark, white, milk, with crispies, hazelnut or coated candies. Now, what could be more sweet than chocolates? But the thought that it was given to you from the heart. Weekend was busier for me and the hubby, all the while when we have to time to rest, he suddenly thought of arranging the garage and do the landscaping (much to my delight) of our front lawn. It's been a long overdue task (which details will be posted soon) and has been part of my heart's desire since we moved more than a year ago. The task was completed after three days of clearing, leveling, landscaping, brick-layering. And now, muscles ache everywhere. And so to reward myself, I went into indulgence: Chocolates! And even nicer that a blogger-friend sent me goodies which included 2 big bags of these. So, what could be sweeter than chocolates from Jeddah, sent with kind thoughts and pure friendship. Ahhhh, chocolate indulgence. Thank you almi...

Birthday Giveaways!

Image
Thank you guys for the prayers. I knew I did my best but my best may not have been the very best for the selection board. The exam was not easy at all, as I am too poor in Abstract Reasoning, meaning, I think I got myself a poor IQ. It was a very short exam, with only 48 items for the first part, but yes, it was an IQ Test with only 12 minutes bombshell time. I got lost with the time pressure, so tensed that I dunno if I answered them correctly. The second part was a Personality Test with 300 items. That was quite a long exam but it was far better than the first part. What gives? I dunno, maybe try my better luck again next time, haha. I am positive with the turn of things this 2010 so I am still keeping my fingers crossed to whatever comes. After the exam was a plethora of activities I have participated. One thing to keep my mind off from the disappointment of lacking the zest for that exam. But anyway, life moves on. Emo for a day maybe? But the Lord has plans, and better plans, that...

Krispy Kreme, Finally!

Image
I have always wanted a taste of this precious brand of doughnuts. Because here in Gensan, the available names we have are only Mr. Donuts and the ever pasalubong ng bayan - Dunkin' Donuts. And finally, last Saturday, my 2 boxes of Krispy Kreme arrived. I was scheduled to attend an old friend's wedding that Saturday in Davao city, and i plurked about it too prior to my trip, and since Plurk = updates, i read that a blogger friend is on her way to Davao City too, that same Saturday. I asked her if she could be available for a meet-up. Because if ever she is, i'd be very delighted to see her, my first ever meet-up with Manila blogger/plurker friends. While in the wedding, she texted me, and confirmed, we will meet her! Yay! Upto6only , yes, that's the who I have met. We met at Chowking, and it doesn't need any introduction because it is as if we were introduced already and we know of each other's lives because of our blogs. I have been frequenting her blog even be...

Where and When...

Image
Mom's favorite space is my most favorite space too. Okey, admit it or not, most women really are enticed by flowers, and yes, I am one of them. When we moved into our own house, the most favorite space I have been frequenting is my mini garden. I have bought a lot of pots and planted some flowering plants, and some veggies at the back space. And hubby couldn't keep me from talking to my plants because I wanted them blooming now. This is the pastime that keeps me sane, especially if I have a lot of time to spare, some grass cutting here and some weeding there, and admiring the beauty of them all. There is no day that I could not spare some minutes on my garden, and I wish that when my kids grow up, they will soon come to enjoy the beauty of what I do, to stop awhile and smell the flowers, a very relaxing time for me to forget about the deadlines, the debts, the bills, and the harsh realities of life. Aside from my garden, I have learned to love the sunset, and I guess this will ...

When it Rains, It Pours

Image
Feeling lucky, yes, that's me. And I thank God that whatever I did to get these things, I think that I made Him happy. For one, I love love winning raffles, the first time was when I won a Tech Tote bag from J's Curly Blogoversary and I also joined The Jane Austen Book Club hosted by Jo of witsandnuts.com and won a Mr. darcy Eco bag and pen , and the ever reliable bookmarks! And now, another one of those love, hehe... I won Odette's first Ireland Anniversary giveaway . Thank you to everyone of you, I may be in luck, really, but I am sure you will get some luck too. Thanks to everyone! And on another thought... When it rains, it pours, as they say. When we got our Side A tickets, we only had a gen. admission so we were supposed to watch Side A at the topmost benches of the gym. Funny that when we went to look for our companions, a friend texted me to look for somebody and when we found him, he said we will be ushered inside the near the front row seats. Boy, the next best ...

A New Mailbox, That's what I Need

Image
Thanks to people who have been loving me and giving me inspiration through their blogs and through their lives. I am just happy that you have been supportive of me in my new level of blogging and for considering my concept of university blogging, I am glad that you consider me as your classmate, thanks so much because this made me feel so accepted , teehee... Over the past few months that I was so busy with the move to the new house, I have also received lots of blog love from blogger friends in our in-laws' mailbox . This made me ecstatic knowing that I am just so loved. First off, Jane Austen awarded me this because I have been reading her novels... The Jane Austen Book Club hosted by the beautiful and so generous Jo of Wits and Nuts had a giveaway contest for reading and blogging about what we have read. Pride and Prejudice, the last of the novels we have to read made me claim this prize. Ahhhh, lovely goodies. Thanks Jo! It was the curly girl's blogoversary, and I am glad ...

Blog Love No. 4

Image
Our internet failed to cooperate with me for the past two days, that's the reason why I haven't posted anything. The weekend was long here in our side of the Philippines, we usually support our Muslim brethren in their holidays and it was a Muslim holiday last Monday, so we had a long rest. Tuesday came and our internet was having problems connecting us to the world. But thanks to good hands, it's back, just now. Last week, I had a number of blog love that came in the mails. Ohhhhhhhhlala, it was such a surprise, everything made me happy. It's just so good when friends think of you and send you something. First off, this "I Think Green" shirt came to my doorstep. The kids were literally excited to open the package but waited until I came home. She also included a journal for me. Just timely for the New year coming, I needed one that I can write my schedules on. It was the thing I just want, slim and simple, one I can carry around with no hassle. Thanks to ...

A Love Affair

Image
I started with blogging in 2005, and I posted only 1. I did not return to it after more than a year. Then in 2007, I opened up an SMS from Odette announcing her site and this caught my interest. Another post came up, until I started to fall in love with it. This year, my archives started to improve and my love affair with blogging has solidified. I can already worry of what to post next and what pics to place in my posts. With each and every post, my heart goes along with it. There has been no post that I have not thought of and discerned of. Until I met fellow bloggers who appreciated my posts, and read them and understood what I meant in what I have written. This love affair with blogging has led me to become friends with people I have only met within the net. And yet, because we have developed a special bond of friendship virtually, there are just many friends still who come to me and offer more than just their posts but the real friendship. I thank the people who have made me hap...

Blog Love No. 2

Image
I was resting my eyes because there were just too many books I must read, and I have to finish my editing and proofreading in the office so I won't have any pending works when I get back from my vacation, when the mailman arrived with this goodies. These loveliness came from Sinta , she gave away her Twilight books and I was just so in love with the story that I must have copies of my own so when she decided to give away her copies, I asked for them, better than throwing them away in trash. I so love you Sinta, Thanks so much! And she added these too, the hubby and the kids devoured before I could take a decent pic of the chocolate candies. She added a postcard too, I forgot to take a pic of the card because I was busy enjoying the books, oh well. And these love of my life... Thanks Sinta, I appreciate them very much. Hugs to you. Thank you, thank you! You made my heart jump with joy.

Blog Love No. 1

Image
I love blogging, especially when you get to meet friends who love you back because of the nice posts you share with them. When I went home last Saturday, my head was splitting with a bad migraine. I had to sleep off the bad headache, and my Tabebs woke me up because of this lovineliness that arrived in my bed. I was dancing my way inside the bedroom, and that practically kept the migraine away! I can't help it. This is all too good to be true, I just love the surprise it gives me. I love everything in it, from the ribbons to the neat red packaging. I met Jeanny of Startin' a New Life through blogging and she is one of the first persons I have added to my blogroll. One of the best things she gave me aside from the beauty of blogging is this cool tumbler she gave me as early Christmas present! Added to it was two very lovely magnetic bookmarks I will have to use, just timely for my new book, Godfather by Mario Puzo. Oh Jeanny, you gave me so much joy for sendling away this love...
