Ten years. We survived ten long years. It seemed so fast. It was only yesterday when we were walking hand in hand enjoying the cool blue sky, and dining at barbecue restos after office hours. It was only yesterday when we got to the church and vowed ourselves bonded by a love so unique, only the two of us can feel for the other. It was only yesterday when I carried a bundle of joy, and we were trying our best to become good parents. And then came another bundle of joy after six years. And was it only yesterday too, when our marriage was blessed with a house, and God blessed us with a car? Ten full years, and today, we are a complete family with two cute kids completing our lives. A home we could cherish and a relationship to strengthen. Ten full years of love, only love. Lord, thank you so much for what the year has been, all the blessings, the gifts, the flow of strength and all that was showered upon us. Thank you also for the trials, the storms, the floods, the weaknesses that we hurdled. We became stronger because we trusted in You and knew we can survive because You certainly won't leave us. Thank you for friends, close friends, neighbors, officemates who have made life better for us because they are around. It was January 2, 2007. Hubby and I were talking about life and family. It dawned on us that we have to get ourselves the independence that we must have, the freedom from in-laws and the freedom from other people's nuisance, if there is. We did not have money that time, and when we went to the company who provides housing loan c/o Pag-ibig, they said they needed P5,000 for reservation of a house. Now it was after the New Year celebration, and our wallets are just too thin to ever contain that amount, I asked Hubby's cousin if she could lend me that amount in order for us to have that lot reserved. January 5, I have had the P5,000, reserved the house and lot. And goodness only knows what happened next. It was May 24, the letter stated Pag-ibig has granted us the house we were applying for, and come June 24, starts the 1st amortization of the house. I am not really a super fan of him, not until Saturday. When I met him, I thought of sloppy old love songs I hear on the FM stations, and I even thought of bringing my Ipod just in case he fails to meet my expectations. I was born a rock'en roll fan, and mushy love songs are somewhat in the seconds and thirds on my list, but he made me love it. He made me change my mind. A few days from now, ahhhhh, it is February again, the love month, my favorite month of the year. This month of the year has never failed to make me happy. For two reasons, first is that, seven days before Valentine's day is my birthday, and second, of course, the most awaited Valentine's Day! Hubby and I have been consistently celebrating the Day of Hearts with just simple dinner dates and sometimes coupled with a nice movie afterwards. I smile when I remember him bringing me a basket of flowers, cards that truly touched my heart and made me cry, some cute jokes just to make my day light and bubbly. It is actually a matter of choice on being happy on this much awaited day of lovers, but this year, I would love to make this day of hearts, extra special for me, and the love of my life and king of my heart.
