My apologies to those who visit my blog and see nothing new. If I do not write my latest adventures now, it is because I am so up to my neck with work-related stuff that I do not have  time to blog.  Since my move to DOLE-Sarangani Field Office, I was assigned a number of programs that are quite important and most of them are because of Employment and other regulatory concerns like issuance of Alien Employment Permit and implementing the Anti-Child Labor Program. Most of all, what's kept me very tied to work is facilitating the provision of sustainable livelihood for the poor but deserving people in the province to which I owe my travels to and fro, here to there and a number of  overtime rendered. Seriously, I feel bad about it because I can no longer write what I feel, and in most  times, I wanted to rant about what I have been down about but time is so limited I cannot even write down my rants more so my raves. I am an avid fan of RIVERMAYA. I went gaga over this band and had to shout it out the very first time here in my blog .  They are one of the most influential and critically acclaimed Rock Band in the country. Way back in college, I bought all their cassette tapes because I just feel very much connected with their songs. The original band composed of Bamboo, Rico Blanco, Perf de Castro, Mark Escueta and Nathan Azarcon were just undeniably good, and they produce real good music, pleasant to the ears that I can relate so much to the music and the lyrics though I am not much of a good singer myself. I even had to share my tapes over Facebook to show that I am a real fan.  Lately, a good friend, Irene , was posting pictures about her experiences with these boys. With the active online activities of the Soccsksargen bloggers, the call for One Million March to Luneta was also replicated here in General Santos City. The group gathered around in the Oval Plaza at 9AM and did a silent prayer for the total scrapping of the pork barrel.  Although there were only a few who heeded the call, there is no mistaking that we have a few groups who also wanted answers to where their taxes have gone to. We may not have reached one million or so, not even fifty for this group, but it is because there has been a few other groups, some leftists and civilians who were out in the streets doing their very own rally and wanted to make sure their voices are heard by the government to totally scrap the PDAF. While in the true sense there are advantages of the PDAF, we ask for total reform in the process by which it is used. It is Kadayawan time again, and Davao is already prepping up for it. Davao holds the Festival of Festivals and they call it Kadayawan, a festival when most, if not all of the tourists visiting the Philippines is en route to Davao. I cannot think of any other way than celebrating Kadayawan with a street parade (Indak-indak sa Kadalanan), colorful arts displayed (Moda Mindanaw) and singing and dancing (Tunog Mindanaw), and eating durian (Kadayawan Agri-Trade Fair). Wow! In 2010, back when we were restless and mindless of the money that we are capable of spending, we had a chance to visit Davao City for this reason alone, and now, I'm going to miss it because as of the moment, we do not have time, money and we have limited budget tor travels now because the kids' needs have ballooned too.   The reason why I am sharing these two beautiful pictures is that, these two pictures were finalists for the 2010 Kadayawan Canon Photography Competition taken by the husband.   ...

The Philippine Transit Application Challenge is one avenue where one can create or develop an application to cater to the needs of our transit/transportation and other applications to the benefit of commuters, pedestrians, tourists and even for those with special needs. This is one way where hackers, programmers, computer engineers, developers and other freelancers whose hobby is to make or develop apps to challenge themselves in the making of the best application that will not only be beneficial to each Filipino, but also must contribute something to our constituents' transit needs. This is a competition for Intelligent Trip-Planning by the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) launched just this July 1. It has been three years when I left my former job at a local publishing house here in General Santos City. What happened then was that, I was no longer happy with them and found an exit when the demands I was asking were ignored.  My demands were simple, 1) that they pay the delayed contributions of the SSS of all the personnel entitled of it, and 2) that they pay all the Pag-ibig contributions of all that is entitled to it; 3) that they pay the loans that were already deducted from their salaries and remit it to the offices mentioned; and  lastly, that they follow the minimum wage because it is written in the laws.  But they were too deaf and blind to see the outcome of such requests.
