A Tribute to the Master Rapper

Kaleidosocope World

So many faces, so many races
Different voices, different choices
Some are mad, while others laugh
Some live alone with no better half
Others grieve while others curse
And others mourn behind a big black hearse
Some are pure and some half-bred
Some are sober and some are wasted
Some are rich because of fate and
Some are poor with no food on their plate
Some stand out while others blend
Some are fat and stout while some are thin
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most

[chorus]
Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin’ round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world

Some are great and some are few
Others lie while some tell the truth
Some say poems and some do sing
Others sing through their guitar strings
Some know it all while some act dumb
Let the bassline strum to the bang of the drum
Some can swim while some will sink
And some will find their minds and think
Others walk while others run
You can’t talk peace and have a gun
Some are hurt and start to cry
Don’t ask me how don’t ask me why
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most

[repeat chorus]

Kaleidoscope world
In this kaleidoscope world

I was a fan, and I still am. I just can't believe he is gone. I have loved his songs, it has always inspired me; my patriotism and nationalism blossomed because a man as Francis M. loved his country so much to be composing and making songs for the country, especially for the youth.

A man, a father, a brother, a friend, a singer, a rapper, a photographer, a producer, a patriot, a proud Filipino.

His nationalistic songs have imparted a lot of knowledge to the history of the Philippines, his songs have always encouraged me to love the country I was born in. His songs are all so positive that they give you the feel of worth in this kaleidoscope world. His songs reflect his love and pride being Filipino.

His rap music was a hit that I was one of those youths who would memorize his songs, especially Mga Kababayan Ko, Meron Akong Ano!, Kaleidoscope World being my favorite.

His songs, as ABS-CBN puts it, are songs that gave us a sense of national identity. I couldn't agree more, he was one of the best, and he is sure a legend.

After this battle with leukemia, Francis M sleeps forever. But his songs will always live in our hearts, in our minds, in the songs he gave us that we will be singing even if he is gone.

Goodbye Master Rapper Francis M.

As a salute to what you have done, let me give you a hand salute and a shout:

Yo! Francis D. Magalona

He was a multi-talented entertainer. A dying breed in the show business world in the Philippines. A dedicated father and a loving husband. Sayang...

it always happens to the nicest people. sana naman yung deserving mamatay ang sumunod. not someone who is good and who has a lot of positive energy, nationalism and talent to spread. hay...

i watched eheads concert yesterday, and when they sang the chorus of kaleidoscope world, it almost made me burst into tears; singing his song without him validates that he's truly gone.

marami tayong gumawa ng tribute para sa kanya. nararapat lang naman para sa isang taong katulad niya.

another untimely departure... :(

and i thought he was doing so well. i expected him to be around by at least a couple of decades more, jolting us with his insightful prose

I know almost all his songs. My baby brother practically grew up listening to his music. The whole Pinas is mourning for his loss. But then I am sure he's happy now and out of pain. Long live Kiko and his music. :-)

RIP Francis M. He left a great legacy behind. Visited his blog last week and it was just heartbreaking to read about all the struggles and pain he had to go through. I can just admire his courage, he never lost hope, he never gave up the fight.
